What it does

Connect the pieces however you like and play through the result.

Who it’s for

Players who want to try a chain of gear without buying it.

Why we built it

How it all connects is half the sound, so we made it something you can see and change.

What we’re proud of

A full rig in a browser tab, with nothing to install.

How it works

A rig you wire up yourself.

  1. Start with a guitar loop, or your own instrument through an interface.
  2. Wire pedals, an amp and a cabinet together on the canvas, in any order.
  3. The pedals run as audio worklets and the amp as a neural model in WebAssembly, all inside the page.
  4. Save a rig, share it as a file, or open someone else's.

Text version: how to use the rig
  1. The rig is a chain of devices drawn left to right: an input, a gate, a pedal, a four-way split into three amp heads and a cabinet, a mixer, an envelope filter, a reverb, a limiter and the output.
  2. Press Play to hear a guitar loop that comes with it, no instrument needed. Pick a different loop, a quick sound or another pedal from the lists, and drag the input and master sliders.
  3. To play your own guitar, choose Input source and pick a microphone or line-in. The browser asks first, and the sound stays in the page.
  4. Everything has a label and works from the keyboard: Tab moves between controls, B bypasses the selected device, Delete removes it, F fits the chain to the window, and undo and redo are buttons. A motion button follows your system setting.
  5. The bundled guitar loops are credited in the app to their dataset, under a Creative Commons licence.
